South Sound Outreach also works closely with area hospitals, Pierce County’s Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), 26 senior centers throughout Pierce County, several homeless day shelters, and the Pierce County Housing Authority through its homeless prevention and disability assistance programs. In the past year, as the foreclosure rates in Pierce County have been skyrocketing, SSO has emerged as one of the three agencies providing HUD-approved foreclosure mitigation counseling in Pierce County, partnering with the Washington State Housing Finance Commission, the Washington Homeownership Center, and the City of Tacoma on foreclosure prevention fairs.
